How to read these charts. Each line is an average of published polls. Every poll is weighted by how recent it is (a Gaussian kernel with a three-week bandwidth), by the square root of its sample size (600 when a poll doesn’t report one, capped at 3,000), and so that a pollster that publishes often doesn’t outweigh the rest. The shaded band is the spread of recent polls: one weighted standard deviation either side of the average. It is not a margin of error or a confidence interval. Dots are individual polls, and lines break where a party went more than three months between polls. Averages restart after each election; a tile says so when a jurisdiction has voted since its last poll or hasn’t been polled in four months.
Polls are compiled from Wikipedia’s opinion polling tables and the averages are updated daily. Data as of October 9, 2026.
How the polling averages work: which polls count, how they’re weighted, and what the bands mean.
British Columbia seat projection: the polling average translated into seats and each riding’s chances, ahead of the 24 October 2026 election.
Legislatures
Every legislature at a glance
Who won the last general election in each of Canada's 14 legislatures, by how many seats, and when each votes next.
Seats won at each legislature’s most recent general election; the black tick marks a majority. By-elections, floor crossings and resignations since then aren’t reflected. The Northwest Territories and Nunavut use consensus government, without parties.
Analysis
Demographics and the vote
How the 2025 federal vote in each of the 343 ridings lines up with who lives there, from the 2021 Census. Choose a measure and a party to compare.
- Winner
- Liberal
- Conservative
- NDP
- Bloc Québécois
- Green
342 ridings · r = −0.55
Across 342 ridings, the Conservative share falls as the share of households that rent rises (r = −0.55).
Each dot is a riding, not a voter: the pattern describes places, not how individuals voted. Census figures are from 2021; the votes were cast in April 2025. The line is a local (LOESS) trend; r measures how closely the ridings follow a straight line, from −1 to 1. One riding with no Conservative candidate is left out.
