Mississauga East—Cooksville

Situated in the eastern half of Mississauga, this riding centres on the neighbourhood of Cooksville, one of the city's oldest communities, and stretches east toward the Etobicoke Creek. The area encompasses a mix of postwar single-family homes, newer townhouse developments, and a growing number of high-rise condominiums along the Hurontario Street corridor. The riding is among the most densely settled in the Peel Region, and its residents speak dozens of languages.

Peter Fonseca (Liberal) — A former Olympic marathon runner who represented Canada at the 1996 Atlanta Games, finishing as the top Canadian in the men's marathon, Fonseca earned a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor and transitioned into politics. About the Riding

Cooksville traces its roots to an 1830s crossroads settlement and has evolved into one of Mississauga's most rapidly densifying areas. The Hurontario Street corridor, which runs through the heart of the riding, had by 2015 become a focus of transit planning, with proposals for a light rail line to connect the lakefront to the Brampton border. The riding's economy relies on a blend of retail, healthcare services anchored by Trillium Health Partners' Mississauga Hospital campus, and small businesses serving the neighbourhood's diverse population. High-rise redevelopment of former industrial and commercial sites along Dundas Street and Hurontario had begun reshaping the skyline, bringing new housing but also raising concerns about infrastructure strain and the pace of intensification.
