Don Valley East sits in the heart of Toronto's east end, stretching from Highway 401 south through the neighbourhoods of Parkwoods, Don Mills, Flemingdon Park, and Victoria Village. The riding follows the curve of the Don River and encompasses a mix of postwar apartment towers, suburban homes, and commercial corridors along Don Mills Road. Redrawn ahead of the 2015 election, the riding lost some territory to the new Don Valley North riding but gained communities previously within Don Valley West.

About the Riding
Don Valley East is among the most diverse federal ridings in Ontario, with large South Asian and East Asian populations concentrated in Flemingdon Park and Thorncliffe Park. These neighbourhoods were developed in the 1950s and 1960s as high-density rental apartment communities and have long served as landing points for newcomers to Canada. The riding's economy is anchored by retail and service businesses along Don Mills Road, the Shops at Don Mills, and proximity to the Ontario Science Centre. Transit access, affordable housing, and immigrant settlement services were persistent local concerns heading into the 2015 campaign. The riding also includes the Don Valley Parkway corridor, a major commuter artery connecting residents to downtown Toronto and the Highway 401 employment zones.
