Pierre-Boucher—Les Patriotes—Verchères is a South Shore riding in Quebec's Montérégie region, immediately south and east of the Island of Montreal. Created through the 2012 federal redistribution and closely resembling the former riding of Verchères—Les Patriotes, it encompasses the city of Boucherville, the regional county municipality of Marguerite-D'Youville—including Varennes, Sainte-Julie, and Saint-Amable—and portions of the regional county municipality of La Vallée-du-Richelieu, including Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu, and Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloœil. The riding is named for Pierre Boucher, the seventeenth-century governor of Trois-Rivières who founded Boucherville, and for the Patriotes of the 1837–1838 Rebellions who were active along the Richelieu valley.

About the Riding
Pierre-Boucher—Les Patriotes—Verchères is a riding of suburban towns and agricultural hinterland. Boucherville, the largest community, is an established and relatively affluent suburb with deep historical roots—founded in 1667, it is one of the oldest settlements on the South Shore. Varennes, Sainte-Julie, and Saint-Amable are newer commuter communities that have grown rapidly with the expansion of Montreal's South Shore suburbs.
South of the suburban belt, the riding opens into agricultural territory along the Richelieu River. The villages of Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu and Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu are steeped in the history of the Patriote rebellions—the Battle of Saint-Denis in November 1837 was one of the few Patriote military victories, and the region's identity remains deeply tied to this heritage of resistance.
The Bloc Québécois has held the riding and its predecessor since 2015, drawing particularly strong support from the more rural northern communities such as Varennes and Saint-Amable, while the suburban centre of Boucherville has been somewhat more competitive. Barsalou-Duval's profile as a young, locally rooted MP and his engagement with constituency issues helped the Bloc maintain a commanding lead in the riding through the 2021 election.
