Located in York Region about 50 kilometres north of downtown Toronto, Newmarket—Aurora comprises the Town of Newmarket, the northern portion of the Town of Aurora above Wellington Street, and a sliver of East Gwillimbury south of Green Lane. The riding is a blend of historic small-town Ontario—both Newmarket and Aurora predate Confederation—and newer suburban growth that accelerated through the 1990s and 2000s as the Greater Toronto Area expanded northward.

About the Riding
Newmarket's Main Street South retains a traditional commercial strip, while the surrounding area includes the Southlake Regional Health Centre, a major employer serving communities across northern York Region and southern Simcoe County. Aurora's heritage core along Yonge Street features Victorian-era buildings, and the town hosts the annual Arctic Adventure winter festival. GO Transit's Barrie line serves both communities, with stations in Newmarket and Aurora providing commuter rail access to Toronto. Local debates during the campaign touched on gridlock along the Yonge Street corridor, healthcare wait times, and the future of the federally owned Newmarket lands near Davis Drive.
