The carbon tax is more than a tax grab, it is social engineering through taxation.

Diesel fuel produces less c02 per mile than gasoline but Dion is planning on increasing the tax on diesel but not on gasoline. Their tax plan will produce the opposite effect that they are aiming for.

The only people that support Dion's usurious carbon tax are his rabid, ideological fellow travellers. Hard working folks with families will vote for the person that's on their side, the Conservatives. Dion will never, ever be prime minister and neither will Jack Layton. From here on in it will be all down hill for the Liberals thanks to Dion and his half-baked cure for the environment, of which Canada is only 2% of the world wide problem. Read my lips Dion, “no new taxes” during hard economic times.

I come from the UK. There, climate change levys cost upwards of $600 per year on heating and lighting the home. All new taxes in the last 5 years. And thats what they are – taxes to fund incremental spending. They hit the middle class the most – the rich can pay, and the poor MAY get subsidies through “recycled money”- sound familiar? Canada, stay clear of this road….BC already has a deeply unpopular tax along this line, the last thing we need is a federal grab too….every level of government will see this as an opportunity to take more you your money….tell Dion where to get off….no carbon tax….enough….. enough…. enough…..
