Dorval--Lachine--LaSalle

Located in the southwestern corner of the island of Montreal, this riding encompasses the city of Dorval, the borough of Lachine, and a portion of the borough of LaSalle. It hugs the shores of Lac Saint-Louis where the Saint Lawrence River widens west of the Lachine Rapids, and is bisected by the approach paths to Montreal-Trudeau International Airport, which sits within its boundaries. The riding blends quiet residential streets with the industrial legacy of the Lachine Canal corridor and the aviation infrastructure that makes Dorval a continental transportation hub.

About the Riding

Dorval--Lachine--LaSalle has a population of approximately 112,000 and is one of the most ethnoculturally diverse ridings in Quebec. Visible minorities make up nearly 60 per cent of the population, with significant Black, South Asian, Chinese, Arab, and Latin American communities. Italian, Spanish, and Mandarin are among the most common non-official mother tongues, and English is widely spoken alongside French.

Montreal-Trudeau International Airport -- Canada's third-busiest airport with over 16 million passengers a year -- is the riding's dominant economic engine. The aviation and aerospace sectors provide thousands of jobs in and around the airport, from airline operations to maintenance, parts manufacturing, and logistics. The Lachine borough has undergone significant transformation since the revitalization of the Lachine Canal, attracting condominium developments, restaurants, and creative businesses to former industrial spaces. LaSalle, the riding's most densely populated area, is a working-class and middle-class borough with a strong community fabric. In 2025, campaign issues centred on the cost of living -- particularly groceries and rent -- affordable housing, healthcare access, French-language integration services for newcomers, public transit, and the economic impact of U.S. trade tensions on the aviation and manufacturing sectors. The riding has been a Liberal stronghold since its creation in 2015.
