York--Simcoe extends from the suburban fringe north of Toronto into the agricultural and lake country surrounding Lake Simcoe. The riding covers the towns of Bradford West Gwillimbury, East Gwillimbury, and Georgina in York Region, along with portions of King Township and the Town of Innisfil in Simcoe County. The landscape transitions from rapidly expanding commuter subdivisions to the flat, productive farmland of the Holland Marsh and the recreational waterfront communities along Lake Simcoe's southern shore.
Candidates
Scot Davidson (Conservative) -- The incumbent MP, having won a February 2019 by-election following Peter Van Loan's retirement from politics. Born and raised in Georgina, Davidson holds a bachelor's degree in economics from York University. He launched his business career as a restaurateur in his early twenties and later co-founded Fish Crisp, a fish coating product sold across North America through retailers including Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, and Walmart. The company was eventually acquired by McCormick Canada.
Cynthia Wesley-Esquimaux (Liberal) -- A member of the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation and the inaugural Chair for Truth and Reconciliation at Lakehead University. Wesley-Esquimaux holds a PhD in anthropology from the University of Toronto and had previously been inducted as an Honourary Witness by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. She had run for the Liberals in York--Simcoe once before, in the 2011 federal election.
Jessa McLean (NDP) -- A community organizer and human rights activist based in the Georgina area. McLean graduated from York University and served as president of Amnesty International during her time at the university. She had also been the NDP candidate in the February 2019 by-election.

Keith Komar ran for the Libertarian Party and Michael Lotter for the People's Party.
About the Riding
Bradford West Gwillimbury, the riding's largest urban centre, has been among Ontario's fastest-growing municipalities, with new residential subdivisions consuming farmland on the town's periphery. The Holland Marsh, a drained peatland situated nearby, remains one of Ontario's most productive vegetable-growing regions, supplying significant volumes of carrots, onions, and celery to markets across the province.
Georgina stretches along the entire southern shore of Lake Simcoe and includes the communities of Keswick, Sutton, Jackson's Point, and Pefferlaw. The town's character is closely tied to the lake -- fishing, boating, and ice fishing draw visitors year-round, and the lake's ecological health is a persistent concern given pressures from phosphorus loading and invasive species. The Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation, located on islands in the southern part of Lake Simcoe, faces infrastructure and housing challenges. Commuter transit and highway access to the Toronto employment market were recurring campaign issues, as residents rely heavily on GO Transit and Highway 400 for daily travel south.
