The riding encompasses the City of North Vancouver and portions of the District of North Vancouver, stretching from the waterfront up into the slopes of the Coast Mountains. It is a largely suburban and affluent riding with a population of approximately 113,000.
Candidates
Jonathan Wilkinson (Liberal) — A Rhodes Scholar with degrees from the University of Saskatchewan, Oxford, and McGill, Wilkinson spent two decades in the private sector focused on clean technology. He served as president and CEO of QuestAir Technologies, a gas purification firm that he guided through an IPO on the TSX, and later became CEO of BioteQ Environmental Technologies, a water treatment company. Before his business career, he worked as a constitutional and federal-provincial relations adviser in the Saskatchewan civil service under Premier Roy Romanow.
Andrew Saxton (Conservative) — The incumbent MP, Saxton had represented North Vancouver since 2008. Born and raised on the North Shore, he studied at Upper Canada College and the University of Western Ontario before building a career in international finance with Credit Suisse in Switzerland and New York and HSBC in Hong Kong and Singapore. He returned to Vancouver and served as CEO of King George Financial Corporation before entering politics.
