Canadian ads and the latest process story scandal

The Conservatives put out a new ad yesterday called “Our Country”. The Liberals rapid-response desk in their war-room put together this video to suggest common elements between the ad and one by GOP 2012 nomination hopeful Tim Pawlenty. Here’s their video comparing the two:

But the Liberals have done it too with their recent advertising. Take a look at this ad from Barack Obama. The Liberal Party ad which is similar follows after it in the video:

What follows is the most humourous derivate effort of any of these ads. And, while it’s a bit of a funny remix of the Conservative Party ad, it’s not that far off message!

I notice the Liberals dropped the plagiarism claim pretty quick when the tables were turned.

I find it interesting that when the LIEberals were spending millions on promoting Canada failed, yet then came Molsen’s “I am Canadian” ad which helped our Canadian pride. I actually like the last one also.

The themes of the ads may be similar to the American counterpart, but I wouldn’t go far as to say they were plagerism.

The thing that bugs me about Ignatieff’s plan is that it essentially already exists. Youn take time off and be paid through EI now. My wife has done it twice in the past 3 years to look after her elderly parents while her mother was undergoing surgery and chemo. But I guess that is the real flaw with the Liberal platform. With the exception of Daycare ( a nearly 20 year old recycled promise), a program more or leass already exists, so what are they really offering?

Brett: ” … so what are [the Liberal$] really offering?

    Nothing. Zero. Nada. Rien. Zilch.

Except that they’ve saddled us with an unwanted election that’s going to cost the taxpayers $300,000,000.

    Exactly…. It’s all about Michael
