Canadian Taxpayers Federation goes after Maria Minna

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation has sent the following letter to Elections Canada for sending out what they describe as “election advertising” during a writ period. It appears that the MP and candidate for Beaches–East York sent out a ten-percenter just before the writs were dropped. The CTF argues that Harper long ago telegraphed the election date and that this amounts to election advertising paid for by the Canadian taxpayer.

Funny I havn't seen anything in the news.

HOC printing department finishes up whatever is delivered to them prior to the writ and some of the mail outs will arrive during the writ period, no different than any other election.

I think there's a rule that actually allows MPs to send out one 10%er AFTER the writ has been dropped….seriously. Might want to check into that.

If her constituency office mailed the sheets before the writ was issued, I don't see a problem.

Maria Minna , a holdover from Cretin's culture of entitlement, is another LIEberal who feels like she can make up the rules as she goes along.

Must be nice to be able to spend TAXPAYER MONEY on a piece of partisan garbage for an election campaign eh Maria! Does it remind you of the good old days of taxpayer cash handed out by the Liberal party to candidates in envelopes as discovered in the Gomery inquiry?

You can bet that Maria and the LIEbral$ would like nothing else but to slide right back into the culture of entitlement – when taxpayer money can be more freely spent to further the interests of the party at the expense of Canada.

I got one of those from Chris Warkertin on Tuesday. He's a Liberal too right? Someone should tell the CTF. This could be huge. Although, it did seem strangely pro-Steven Harper for Liberal partisan garbage.

Just to let everyone know what Maria was going on about (i.e., her usual back-patting for all the pork she's spread around):

First page was the tens of millions she is PERSONALLY responsible for bringing into the riding. No real jobs or anything like that, but basket-weaving make work projects. She actually bragged that it only took her 10 years to get a community centre built. And much of the money is actually PROVINCIAL tax money (you know, my other pocket).

One corner was alloted to slamming Layton for daring to use HIS mailing privileges to mail out partisan propaganda. Somewhere, a hypocrisy meter is blowing up.

The entire two page “spread” inside was about the Green Plan, or whatever it is. I fell asleep reading the third paragraph, but apparently I get a tax refund or something and no polar bears were harmed in the production of the brochure (but I stand to be corrected).

The last page was pure partisanship, slamming Harper left, left and left. Apparently, in two years of a minority government, Harper undid everything since Pearson.

I think Marilyn Churley's only skill would be as a stand in for a remake of “The Wizard of Oz” in the Lollipop Guild scene, but I'm tempted to put an NDP sign on my lawn just to get rid of Minna. Please?

I live in the riding of Willowdale, and I got one of these 10% broadsheet from my liberal MP, Martha Hall Finlay. Unlike Minimum Minna, Hall Finlay was not part of Chretien caucus of entitlement. I guess the feeling of entitlement passed down through Chretien to Dithers and finally to Kyoto Dion.

And I bet not one Tory MP's office was busy filling out the “Green Sheets” in the final days and hours before the writ dropped, right Stephen?

Not a single one, I'm sure.
