I think a lot of people would be able to see past all the negative comments about Harper if he was more like this in interviews. I think though the more serious image he projects in politics is probably on purpose. It would be great to get more moments like this.

Great interview, too bad we played defensive hockey for the last ten minutes collapsing around Louuuuuuuuungo!

Thankfully Sid the kid found the net in OT.

Our PM should invite the team over and share his spoils from Obama.

So, why is it Canadians aren't supposed to like this guy?

After you see this interview, it becomes increasingly clear that there's a hate-on for our PM in the media because he's actually an entirely likeable man, something we are very seldom “allowed” to see about him. If an alien were to land in Canada and see this interview and then be given Canadian newspapers to read for the next week and a TV to watch CTV and CBC, they'd probably be forgiven for not making the connection.

There IS no connection between who Prime Minister Stephen Harper really is and who he's portrayed as in the media.

It was great to see the real Stephen Harper in this interview.

Stephen Harper pats himself on the back on TVO interview about the sports tax credit to help the poor. The poor live in poverty and can’t afford to put out $500.00 in the first place; Harper, anybody home, is this for the under privileged?

Aislin's cartoon is what most Canadians really saw in that interview.

the real Stephen harper is the one you see trying to become a dictator. Your over the top gushing is proof of that as you continue to miss the major warts and danger signals in his persona. lets see how he dances around the Afghan crisis he tried to prorogue around.

  • Liz J

Get real Terry/parnel. If you want to talk about dictatorship let's go back to Chretien's time in office, he did whatever he pleased including proroguing parliament when it suited HIM. You don't need a long memory to recall Frere Jean's romp with his majority governments so no excuse unless you were in a coma or not born yet.

The Taliban prisoner concern is not shared by mainstream Canadians who are disgusted by the antics of the opps in the HOC accusing our soldiers in the field of knowingly handing over the ENEMY to be tortured by Afghan officials. You cannot accuse the government people who are not on the ground in that hell hole without accusing the troops. This government made vast improvements to the situation, a far cry from your idol Chretien who sent our men and women there without proper uniforms, unsafe equipment, they even had to borrow pots and pans to cook their food in.

This Prime Minister is the best and most capable we've had in memory and mine is a long one. He's the right man and the only man for the job at the present time. It will require THE Coalition to bring him down and none of the leaders of that troika is fit to govern this country. You know that, factions of the Liberals know that, that's why they're playing games. They cry about proroguing parliament while they are willing to hold up bills they said were so urgent to continue their juvenile and irresponsible antics.

    LIZJ. Right on!

Brian Williams clearly addresses Stephen Harper as PM-not harper, or stevie; Williams must have realized that day of the interview that the PM is no scaring guy but pleasant humble and funny. The side which the national media does not want canadians to know about.

All these stuffs which the liberals are complaining about occurred while they were in government: the neglect to our military, neglect to tranfer of payments to provinces, E.I scandal, health care, education and so on. The media knows very well the drama behind the LPOC but chose not to say a word on television. The national media actually think that you me and others are ignorant and asleep. Unfortunately for them:
THE SLEEPING GIANT( canadians) ARE WIDE AWAKE.

LizJ: “This Prime Minister is the best and most capable we've had in memory and mine is a long one. “

Right on! And, of course, that's why the wankers who support the Liberal$ have their knickers in such a knot. I'm a'smilin' and a'dancin'. ;-)

  • DougM

That doesn't mean the rest of us have to be limited by their limitations… Those that would support the Liberals have no memory, no integrity and no intelligence, if Aislin wants to support that mindset, fine, why should the rest of us lower our standards??

your nuts if you say he's the best and most capable PM we've had. ( unless your talking about wasting tax payers money, then I would agree.) steve harper is a loser.
