Here was a man with great skills and knowledge. That fact that he switched parties was not done for personal gain. He was interested in the well fare of his country. Most of their time yesterday was spent on the Mulroney inquiry and on Mr. Lynch's departure.<br><br>As usual, the PM's critics view changes in his staff as a sign of trouble, yet any changes in Liberal ranks are deemed as strengthening the office of the leader of the opposition. That V-E-R-Y long link leads to an interesting (and short) blog post by Susan Delacourt, in which she shows the actual duration of Mr. Lynch's tenure as Clerk of the PCO and that of his predecessors.

Why is that interesting information? Because in their usual gossipy way, the At Issue panel yesterday were intimating that there's trouble brewing among the PM's staff. Most of their time yesterday was spent on the Mulroney inquiry and on Mr. Lynch's departure.

As usual, the PM's critics view changes in his staff as a sign of trouble, yet any changes in Liberal ranks are deemed as strengthening the office of the leader of the opposition. Sigh …
