Frank Klees interview

Frank Klees is running for the leadership of the PC Party of Ontario and took some time to chat with me today about what his bid means and where Ontario needs to go given the tough economic times and new taxation structure being implemented by Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty. Frank also discusses specific policy measures that he would or would not implement.

  • Great post. I especially found it interesting. For this matter, once I discussed with one of my friends, not only about the content you talked about, but also to how to improve and develop, but no results. So I am deeply moved by what you said today.*

The information below is what is posted on Northern Ethanol's Web site. What is going to happen in the rest of the province if Frank becomes leader of the party.

    Frank F. Klees
    Director

Frank F. Klees assumed his position as a Director of Northern in September 2006. In addition he had been President of Klees & Associates, Ltd, Ontario, Canada, since January 1982, a company engaged in financial services consulting. Mr. Klees is a board member of Universal Energy Corporation. A Corporation that is building the largest wheat based ethanol facility in North America.

Mr. Klees has been a sitting Member of the Provincial Parliament Legislative Assembly in Ontario and has held numerous government positions, including a member of the Cabinet in 1999, Ontario’s Tourism Minister and Minister of Transportation. During which he was responsible for the implementation of a multi-year $10 billion highway infrastructure program.

Prior to his political career, Mr. Klees co-founded the Municipal Gas Corporation, an energy company that developed 55,000 customers in Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec.

I like Frank 's policies except that he is on the Board of Director's of Northern Ethanol. Barrie has been fighting to have Northern Ethanol leave Barrie. There should never be an Ethanol plant in the middle of a city. Northern Ethanol say's we welcomed them but when Barrie welcomed the previous owners we were welcoming a small plant that used to make beer in the old Molson plant and were going to use the old equipment that was there. Now Northern Ethanol wants to build the biggest ethanol plant in North America in Barrie. If there was ever an explosion there the whole city would have to be evacuated. The city and people do not want this to happen. Nothern Ethanol are looking at sueing the city now. Frank Kee's is on the Board of Director's of this company. What can we expect if he becomes the head of the party for the rest of the province. This scares me. I like his other policies but this ethanol plant scares me more.

    Frank has my vote.

No to liberalization of alcohol sales in Ontario? If you love the nanny state why don't you just say so Frank.

You will be dead-last on my ballot, unranked if possible.
