What to expect from Sarah Palin’s speech tonight

Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin will address delegates tonight at the RNC at the Xcel Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Here’s what to expect from her speech.

Expect Palin to introduce herself to the American people and give a deep auto-biographical account of herself.

Expect Palin to also address the deeply personal attacks from the left-wing blogosphere on pregnancy rumours and attacks on her daughter. Strong messages of the family value of support and a call for american empathetic reflection is what we will probably see.

Expect Palin to address her special experience as the Governor of Alaska and what this means for energy independence in America. Palin and McCain will address drilling ANWAR as gas prices are on the rise for families and business.

Expect Palin to address her unique position as a woman on the VP side of a presidential ticket this year. Expect Palin to make direct reference to Hillary Clinton and thank her for putting 18 million cracks in the glass ceiling. Expect Palin to appeal to Clinton supporters, independents, Republicans and Democrats to break that glass ceiling together and move America forward with the GOP.

I wonder how Sarah Palin would feel about Canada's publicly funded broadcasting corporation smearing her family?

That's the thing about public life, nothing is private if it makes a splashy headline.

Look no further than our own government as proof of that. Never leave your briefcase at the girlfriends house. As to Palin's pregnant daughter, it takes two to tango and they plan to get married after the fact. Better late than never.

I hope you are enjoying your foray into the politics of the American election, a real “shock and awe” experience unlike any other.

Sarah Palin’s speech was awesome last night. A new star was born and this is great for the Conservative movement. I think after all the attacks, she came out strong and confident yesterday. I wish we could borrow her for a couple of days on the campaign trail here in Canada. I would love to invite her to our convention in November.

Is this the CBCs attempt at influencing a foreign countries election?

Wow – her speech was impressive. She is not afraid to stand up to the MSM and call Obama on some of the garbage coming out of his mouth. Here’s a few of my faves:

    From the Globe:

“But here’s a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I’m not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I’m going to Washington to serve the people of this great country.”

    From the National Post:

She heaped scorn on Mr. Obama for saying, during a San Francisco fundraiser in April, that small-town voters are “bitter” and “cling to guns and religion” for solace.

“In small towns, we don’t quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren’t listening,” said Ms. Palin, who was greeted and repeatedly interrupted with thunderous applause.

“We tend to prefer candidates who don’t talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.”

    “Country First”

Good slogan. Short and to the point. Makes me think of millions of people in crisp, snappy-looking uniforms marching behind a strong, charismatic leader. What's not to like about that?

Good one Jim. In fact, the motto of The Royal Canadian Regiment is “Pro Patria”. And when the battalions of the Regiment parade, they carry real guns. Sometimes even in the streets of Canada.

    Cheers
