and James, I expected better from you. The difference is (and the root of my expectations) is that you should tell me why. See, I know that you're a partisan Liberal and I could assume that your disaffection stems from your dislike of the colour blue and the blue tie I usually wear when I write from a conservative POV. But, I wouldn't assume you to be so superficial so I hope you'll enunciate the source of your unmet expectations.

Hi Stephen, Although my data was assembled in February, I did do a review of the number of outstanding or not yet reviewed candidate financial returns from the 2004 and 2006 General Elections, as well as the 2006 By-elections, and reported it at the Pundits' Guide at the same time I posted the candidate financial data (see here for that table). My understanding is that it's a two step process whereby candidates submit their returns, and then the returns are reviewed by Elections Canada, the latter stage being viewed as a kind of "acceptance" of the return's accuracy/compliance with the reporting regs. At least one media story suggests that Elections Canada is feeling backlogged, which may explain some of the delays. I haven't made a review and update of that data recently, although it's on my to-do list. For the benefit of your readers, some summary metrics from each candidate's financial return are posted at every riding profile page at the Pundits' Guide on the "Financial Metrics" tab (the current 308 ridings, that is). Financial returns that were still "as submitted" in February are shown in italics there. For example, here is the financial metric data for Guelph, ON. regards, alice

One question stephen, why hasn’t the MSM broadcast these findings then to question olivia ,LIBBY etc.
Also Mac Maynard mentioned a while back that he was concern at the behaviour of the Commissioner for the election canada.

Apparently the kangaroo jury do not like their witnesses very much since none of them are falling into the juries’trap.

The venom from Pat Martin is oozing from his mouth; he wants to kill two birds with one stone so his party can get into Power by eliminating the liberals with his daily rantings on the adscam and the conservatives.

Stephen, I notice some of the names mentioned were part of the affadvits presented in the court case showing the same in and out with other parties. I have to wonder how the reviews have not been finalized from an election that took place January, 2006.

You don’t suppose EC might be putting off finalizing these reviews and sending the corresponding rebates when approved as it will prove that the Conservative party is being targeted for something done by all parties?

I’ve heard that the Conservatives are now circulating a list of candidates under review by Elections Canada. I should see if I can get a copy and post it here. I think a lot of people were surprised by Mayrand’s invitation to check the EC website for filings under review.

Hi, Stephen. That shouldn’t be to hard to do. I just checked Elections Canada’s site doing a similar search and I could pull the results out of the HTML source. I’ll write a small script to compare the results and find all Liberals that are still under review. I won’t have a chance to do this until Sunday evening, but I’ll be happy to give you the results once I do.
