Norman Spector was kind enough to email me this story (buried within another story) about the purposefully precipitated diplomatic row between the US and Canada (I provided some evidence of the orchestration of the spat earlier).

former diplomats here say McKenna and senior staff are still smarting over the Liberals’ decision to leak private discussions between the ambassador and James Connaughton of the White House environmental quality office in the heat of the federal campaign.
